Her photos of rural America were printed on curtains, gowns, cookie jars, and dinnerware, and she used them to promote cigarettes, cameras, lipstick, and instant coffee.” She was named one of the five most noteworthy women by the National Press Club in 1950, and she was named Woman of the Year by the National Association of House Dress Manufacturers in 195Grandma Moses was named “Young Woman of the Year” by Mademoiselle magazine at the age of 8Moore College of Art in Philadelphia bestowed the first honorary doctorate degree on her.
