Cleveland: Texas Shooting Victim: Who Is Sonia Argentina Guzman?
The suspect, Francisco Oropeza, 38, started firing an AR-15 from his front porch while intoxicated, according to the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office.
The family identified the deceased at a press conference as 21-year-old Diana Velasquez Alvarado, 31-year-old Obdulia Molina Rivera, and 18-year-old Josué Jonatan Cáceres. Another victim, 8-year-old Daniel Enrique Guzmán was the son of 25-year-old Sonia Argentina Guzmán Taibot, who was also among the dead.
According to deputies, his neighbors asked him to keep quiet since they had a baby attempting to fall asleep.
Sheriff Greg Capers said that Oropeza replied by informing them that it was his property and that a resident had footage of the suspect approaching the front door with the gun.
According to the sheriff, five people were shot “almost execution style” from the neck up. Two of the dead, all of whom were reportedly from Honduras, were reportedly discovered inside lying over two youngsters, according to Capers.
After being transferred to the hospital, one of the victims was declared dead. One of the survivors, the father of the 8-year-old kid who was interviewed by ABC13, claimed that after confronting Oropeza, he came up to the front door, shot his wife, and then entered the house.
Authorities claimed that despite the fact that three further patients arrived at the hospital covered in blood, they were unharmed.
Oropeza is thought to be armed and dangerous, according to FBI Special Agent in Charge James Smith, and authorities believe that he is on foot and a threat to the neighborhood.
Doa Francia, the victim’s mother, expressed grief that the Mexican shooter had taken her honorable daughter, who, despite their geographic separation, kept in daily contact with them and had worked hard to establish a home over the years she had resided in the United States.

Oropeza is still wanted by police; deputies describe him as a Hispanic man with a 5′ 8″ height. He was last seen with a black shirt, work boots, and pants on. He has short black hair and a goatee, according to investigators.
“We don’t yet know the exact motivations of this deranged individual, but no one can sensibly say that someone this evil should have been able to get their hands on a weapon designed for the battlefield. We need gun safety reform in this state – and we need it right now, before even more kids are slaughtered,” Gilberto Hinojosa, Chair of the Texas Democratic Party, said.
